Step 1:
Go to the store.
Step 2: placed mixture of sliced strips and bleu cheese in a split piece of PVC. Pack it tight with some sort of ram rod like a musket. Place in freezer for a little bit to firm it up.
Step 3:
Remove chickencheese shaft from PVC.
Step 4:
Wrap with bacon lattice - chill in fridge.
Step 5:
Bake until bacon is crispy and the internal temp of the buffaloaf is at least 165F. I think higher cooking temps worked better. 400 at least.
Step 6:
Slice and serve.
Step 7:
Watch the guys go nuts for it, while the women roll their eyes while saying,
“No way I’m eating that”

Genius!
The wire rack is a good idea too, other wise it will end up a greasy mess most likely.

The first two times I didn’t use the rack, and yeah... the bottom was greasy and under-cooked. You need the bacon to cook all the way around in order to hold together once you cut it.
The higher temp also helped, too. The first time, it really didn’t hold together that well.

Are you using the skewers to help hold it together as well?
Where’d you get the idea for this, one those food porn social media pages? They always seem to give about half the information you need to make the recipe turn out well.

Yeah, I needed to hold some of the bacon down while it cooked to try to keep the cocoon complete.
I got the idea after being invited to a “bring your own wings” superbowl party my sister was hosting back in 2009.
I had been reading Thisiswhyyourefat.com, and had this obnoxious/brilliant, gross idea. (first MSPaint sketch) My sister hated it, but my brother-in-law wrote back, asking what sauce I planned on using. That’s when the second sketch happened, and I decided to make it.

That looks amazing, although I’m slightly disappointed that Buffalo referred to a sauce and not to a meat.
BaconSandwich is tasty.

Anything called a bacon cocoon is good in my books! I’ll have to remember this for the next bacon party I have.
